Prof. Alexander Rozenblyum

Ph. D. (Byelorussian University, Minsk, Belarus), Dr. Sc. (St. Petersburg University, St. Petersburg, Russia), Associate Professor at Mathematics Department of CityTech.

Areas of professional interests are theory of special functions of mathematical physics and representations of groups, contemporary methods of teaching in mathematics. The author of a number of scientific articles, the textbook “Dad’s Lessons: Trigonometry” (together with L. Rozenblyum). Developed the curriculum of the course “Applications of the Wave Equations” for Bachelor of Applied Mathematics program at CityTech. Worked on 3 PSC-CUNY Research Grants, participated in grant “The Transfer of Learning from Mathematics and Physics to Computer Systems and Engineering Applications” funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Developed an online module for the course “Algebra with Trigonometry for College Students”. Created a computer software MMT ((Master Management Tool) for scheduling classes for all schools and departments of CityTech (together with Prof. Z. Chen). Participated in an Innovation Grant funded by Cisco for the City Polytechnic High School of Engineering, Architecture and Technology to bring college professors into their classrooms. Member of the math panel for PSC–CUNY Awards Program. Member of the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America.
